Welcome to the Okehampton Website.
Whether you are an Okehampton resident and looking to find out information, or are planning a trip to Okehampton; you've come to the right place.
Situated in the heart of rural Devon, on the shoulder of Dartmoor’s heights Okehampton offers a wealth of wildly differing landscapes. Rising dramatically behind Okehampton lie the highest peaks of Dartmoor with Yes Tor at over 600m. These hills topped with striking, weathered granite tors, surrounded by clitter seem almost shaped by human hand, but are in fact the stumped remains of mountains millions of years past.
This site has been set up to help you make the most of your stay in Okehampton, as well as to serve the Okehampton Community, offering a business directory of all local businesses as well as everything from cinema listings to information on local events and social groups.
This site is free for all to use, whether you are a resident of Okehampton, on holiday in the area or thinking of visiting Okehampton.
There are many websites serving Okehampton, Dartmoor, and the South West generally, Okehampton even has a number of it's own websites. Over the past few years we have become aware of a decline in the quality of information on websites for this region; we have set up okehamptondevon.com for the sole purpose of serving the town and the surrounding area, and hope to bring a sense of community back to the town, it is also gives visitors to the area a valuable tool to plan their stay in the area and find out about everything Okehampton has to offer.
Every single business in Okehampton has already or will been included on this site, we have teamed up with the local cinema to provide the latest film listings and hope to bring you news updates in partnership with the local press.
